Abstract

15 species of Disphyllum are described from the Middle and Upper Devonian (Frasnian) of Belgium. Of these 4 are new: D. hilli, D. crassiseptatum, D. grabaui and D. gradatum; 3 uncertain. The variations of the external and internal characters of the same species in the different facies are analysed. It has been found that the external and internal characters of the corals such as shape, form of the calyx, septa and dissepiments were strongly influenced by environmental conditions. The biostratigraphical value of the more important species is also briefly given.
