https://popups.uliege.be/0774-7136/index.php?id=1491 Entrées d’index fr 0 https://popups.uliege.be/0774-7136/index.php?id=1481 Cet article se propose d’analyser la nouvelle L’Occupation des sols de Jean Echenoz à l’aune du dispositif perspectif tel qu’il a été décrit, notamment, par Hubert Damisch dans L’Origine de la perspective, afin de montrer comment Echenoz interroge l’illusion contemporaine de l’omniscience de l’œil en recourant précisément à des motifs qui rappellent, détournent ou redoublent le dispositif perspectif, historiquement lié à l’émergence du sujet géométral et au pouvoir de l’œil humain sur l’espace perçu et représenté. Nous entendons dégager le rôle cardinal que l’auteur accorde, ce faisant, à l’environnement urbain. Convoquer la perspectiva artificialis nous donnera aussi l’occasion d’approcher le travail sur le réalisme, la vraisemblance et l’artifice auquel se livre Echenoz. Our purpose is to analyze Jean Echenoz' L'Occupation des sols through the device of the perspective as described, in particular, by Hubert Damisch in L’Origine de la perspective, in order to show how Echenoz questions the contemporary illusion of the eye’s omniscience by resorting precisely to patterns that remind of, subvert or redouble the perspective device, historically related to the emergence of the geometric subject and the power of the human eye over the perceived and depicted space. We also identify the cardinal role the author gives to the urban environment.
