This article aims at restoring to the works of Walter Benjamin its critical and political dimension. To achieve this goal, different committed commentators who each in their own way make a strategic use of hisTheses on the Philosophy of Historyhave been mobilised.Among other things and with Michael Lowy, it is about shedding light on the issues of the « unnatural » alliance between marxism and thelogy, or following Daniel Bensaid in his secularised and anti-utopia reinterpretation of Benjamin’s messianism.
