The Quantal Architecture of Natural Systems

We are at a point now where the overall profile of Cosmic evolution is becoming discernible. In what follows, its broad outline is suggested. It is made as generic as possible, in order to encompass the processes of energy transformation from the birthing event of the cosmos to the present. To this effect, the paper is presented from the most general point of view, i.e. taking an energy stance, on the grounds that energy is the ultimate substrate of all there is. At the core of it are two distinguishable elements: the elementary processes of energy transformation that result in the emergence of new systems, and their modal character which governs their diversification.

Inertia and its Implication in Technology

In this paper Inertia as a global parameter of system and process is considered. Beginning with the mechanical and electrical processes where a time-delay phenomena appears, the authors give a new definition of Inertia : The Inertia is the system global internal parameter, which produces the entropy increase, as the effect of input variation. The definition is based on system information measurement, to appreciate the level of organization against the entropy. This definition allows analyzing the different systems and determining the major effect on the quality of the processes.

The Non-Decreasing Character of Complexity : A Biological Approach

The overall information processing capacity of an organism is proposed as a conceptual criterion for its complexity. The apparent tendency of complexity increase during the course of evolution is accounted for in terms of positive feedback mechanisms. Furthermore, the different modes of evolution of biological complexity are identified as: The ongoing appearance of more complex species in case of abundance of resources, pausing of the complexity increase when the limits of the resources are reached in a relatively isolated environment, and the extinction of some of the complex species due to lack of sufficient resources. All arguments concerning the definition of complexity and its non-decreasing character are based on concepts like information processing, maintenance of organisation and the related energy expenditures. As a result of these arguments it is concluded that complex adaptations have a teleonomic nature.

Visual Perception of Polychromatic Flows : A Systemic Approach Essay : Application to Pattern Recognition

Working on the pre-attentive stage of perception by the human visual system (HVS), we propose both a modelling of chromatic perception (l) by means of 4 attactors associated to a mathematical symbolism induced by branching theory, and some structures for the shapes -or coloured shapes- processing. This research involved by the computer graphics and neurophysiology results about recognition of optical signal processing circuits have necessitated to reinvest the visual chain : object (emitter or re-emitter), light information vehicle, the colour receiver, the processors of the SVH. The local physico-mathematical formula set very developed about propagation, has brought solutions for monochromatic waves and for obstacle with smooth edge reveal neither various curvatures (2) nor a fortiori the texture of reemitting object U(3). A resort to a formula-set about interaction matter radiation, extended to a systemic approach, give an algorithmic stage to take account the spatial character (2) and (3). Taking account on one side this scalar conjecture about visual information, and on another side a retinal functional specialisation, we propose a modelling of C occluding edge detection of 3D-object. C except in isolated points by envelop method. The elaboration of a valuation table of morphemes associating the mathematical characteristics of curves with their pregnance treat the more cognitive stage of processing associating edge and colour. Some pictures illustrate the abilities of curves family to suggest 3D-shape. The chromaticity of delimited areas strengthen, or rather create, psycho-affective suggests associated to logos.

Ecological Crisis as Ordinary Evolutionary Events Canalised by the Biosphere

Evolutionary events at different levels of life organisation are interrelated to each other and as well as to panbiospheric processes. Out of several general statements and mechanisms discussed above, we would like to specially note the following : the paradigm of autocanalisation, an ecocentric concept of macroevolution, a license-ecosystem approach, the hypothesis of embryosphere and, at last, a physico-ecological model of biospheric evolution. Ecological crises within the framework of our approaches are just ordinary evolutionary events of biospheric evolution autocanalised by the biosphere itself under the inconstant exogenous conditions on the planet.
