The site produced a deep, rich sequence of Mousterian industries including Typical Mousterian, Mousterian of Acheulian Tradition, and the previously unknown Asinipodian along with a well preserved fauna. Though Pech de l'Azé IV, along with Pech I and II, is well known and has played an important role in our current understanding of Mousterian variability, it has not been fully analyzed or published.
