INFLUENCE D'UN TRAITEMENT THERMIQUE SUR LA SENSIBILITÉ D'ÉMULSIONS AgBr PRIMITIVES
Abstract
The temperature dependence of sensitivity was studied in unsensitized and undyed emulsions containing octahedral or cubic silver bromide grains of uniform size (0.4 or 0.8 (10-6 m) in a relatively inactive-gelatin layer. The samples were heated up to 200 °C before exposure at room temperature. It was shown that the surface sensitivity increased up to 75 °C but decreased over 120 °C. In the same range of temperatures the internal sensitivity increased slowly and the deep one decreased. The significant experimental results can be summarized as follows : the sensitivity is thermally affected by changes in temperature storage before exposure and increasing temperature can result in a shifting of sensitivity from the interior to the surface of the grains.
