Abstract
The Belgo-Indian Network for Astronomy & astrophysics (BINA) was initiated in 2014 to stimulate Belgian and Indian astronomers to collaborate on projects that are based on observations with the Indo-Belgian telescopes and other telescopes of interest. After the successful event of the 1st BINA workshop that took place in Nainital (India) in November 2016, the 2nd BINA workshop was held in Brussels (Belgium) in October 2018 to promote this network as an expanding international collaboration. In this paper, a detailed overview of this event is presented as an introduction to the proceedings containing 39 additional papers corresponding to presentations that were given at the 2nd BINA workshop.
