The migration of the Black Kite, Milvus migrans: Preliminary study of the influence of meteorologic-al conditions on migration intensity through Organbidexka crest, in the Atlantics Pyrenees. The aim of this study was to investigate the intluence of meteorological conditicrns on the migration density of thc Black Kites. Milvus migrans, through the Western Pyrenees. In this work, we used the data collected during l3 years (since l98l) at Organbidexka (+/- 1200 m) by the team of O.C.L. (Organbidexka Col Libre). A « variance analysis » was performcd-and revealed some tendencies. The Black Kite, using principally soaring flight. seems to wait the more favorable conditions for the dcvelopment of lifts (thermal convection or slope lift). However, this study suggests many questions and opens the way to complementary and new investigations.
Le but de cette étude est d'éclaircir l'influence des conditions météorologiques sur l'intensité des passages migratoires du milan noir, Milvus migrans, à travers les Pyrénées Occidentales. Pour effectuer ce travail, nous avons pu bénéficier des données récoltées au col d'Organbidexka (+/- l200 m), par l'équipe d'O.C.L., durant l3 années consécutives (depuis 1981). Des analyses statistiques réalisées, il ressort que le milan noir, rapace principalement planeur, semble, en effet, attendre les conditions les plus favorables au développement des ascendances (thermiques ou de pente). Cette étude engendre cependant de nombreuses autres interrogations et ouvre la voie à des travaux plus précis.
