L’abri d’Aizpea
Un faciès à trapèzes et son évolution à la fin du Mésolithique sur le versant sud des Pyrénées

Résumés
Se presenta la evolución cultural reconocida en el abrigo de Aizpea, en la vertiente sur de los Pirineos occidentales. En su relleno se han recogido restos que se escalonan entre el 7790 y el 6370 BP. Los vestigios recuperados permiten reconstruir un estadio cultural propio del Mesolítico avanzado de base geométrica; en su interior se puede observar una evolución en tres etapas, de las cuales la última representa ya elementos propios del Neolítico (cerámica). Las actividades de subsistencia se centran en la caza de ungulados, la pesca fluvial y la recolección de vegetales; no se reconocen trazas de domesticación ni vegetal ni animal. La secuencia de Aizpea presenta semejanzas con el modelo evolutivo ya bien definido de la Cuenca del Ebro y, al mismo tiempo, debido a su situación geográfica septentrional, ciertas similitudes con elementos continentales, al norte de los Pirineos.
The author shows the cultural evolution in the rock-shelter of Aizpea, located in the southern slope of the western Pyrenees. The stratigraphic sequence at Aizpea covers an interval of time extending from 7790 to 6370 BP. The archaeological materials found there place this stage in the geometric facies of the late Mesolithic. The internal evolution in this stage presents three horizons; the most recent already incorporates some distinctive features of the Neolithic (pottery). The subsistence activities of the prehistoric occupants of Aizpea were based on ungulate hunting, river fishing and vegetable gathering; neither plants nor animals had yet been domesticated. The sequence from Aizpea corresponds with the evolutive pattern already well defined in the Ebro Basin and, at the same time, has some resemblances (due to its geographical location) with continental archaeological elements found north of the Pyrenees.
