Abstract
A technique based on digital image processing of X-ray microanalysis pictures taken from ground slices was used to identify mixed minerals and determine their volume percentages. It has been used to analyze some mixed minerals and the results agreed well with those obtained by chemical methods. This technique can also be used to other phase analyses which are based on microanalysis.
