Abstract

Some social region constructed a self definition, as being « in between » or « in and out » at the same time, living this situation as a resource. What is the status of such a socio-spatial definition in front of conceptual framework grounded on the value of clear-cut delimitation. The « Pays de Herve » in Belgium seems a good example. Being located "in between several cities, on a physical level, it is a fact reinterpreted as a resource for selfidentity.
