A scientific journal for all fields of geography

The title BSGLg is the acronym of Bulletin de la Société Géographique de Liège. This is a publication of the Geographical Society of Liège. This journal succeded in 1966 to the Bulletin du Cercle des Géographes liégeois, founded in 1929.

The journal is published 2 times a year.

The journal BSGLg publishes scientific papers in all fields of geography: physical geography, economic and social geographies, urban and rural geographies, epistemology, geomatic and geometrology, teaching of geography. We pay particular attention to originality and innovation in content proposals. Papers can be both submitted in English or French.

A scientific journal welcoming
proposals of young researchers

The editorial board invites especially young researchers and doctoral students to submit papers in order to present significant progress in their research.

These proposals will be evaluated through the same process and with the same quality requirements. However, the editorial board will first of all consider the ways reviews of experts will be transmitted and will also give advice on paper improvement.

An open-access

BSGLg is both published on hard copies (subscription) and online (free access). Since 2014, more than 500 papers have been available online fully. They are indexed by many search engines which enhance their visibility. The submission of proposals and the consultation of papers are completely free of charge. This is our contribution to geographical researches and our belief in quality knowledge for all.

An internationally recognized
scientific journal

The journal BSGLg has an international peer committee and evaluates proposals through a double-blind peer reviewed process.

The quality of this process and the high quality of papers published in BSGLg are the reason why our journal is indexed in Scopus and FRANCIS (EBSCO), recognized by AERES (French Agency for the Evaluation of Research), and supported by the FNRS (Belgian National Foundation for Scientific Research) and the J.A. Sporck Foundation (ULg).

Become part of a
scientific project

When authors publish papers in BSGLg, they contribute to a scientific project which gives a visibility to original publications in all geographical fields. In addition, they give their support to knowledge diffusion for all through an open-access strategy. This is a unique opportunity to establish contacts and to enhance local and international research collaborations with experts in geography.
